Engine Control Modules

The Engine Control Unit / Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) controls a series of functions in electronically fuel injected internal combustion engines to ensure optimal engine performance in all situations.

It does this by reading values from a variety of sensors which interpret the data using multidimensional performance maps which in turn control the air–fuel mixture, ignition timing, idle speed, and many other parameters.

This is often the best option to get your vehicle back up and running properly as brand-new replacement ECM’s are often very expensive to replace, need to be programmed and can be difficult to source

Many late model vehicles require ECM’s to be programmed to the specific vehicle to match or align the ECM to the vehicles BCM (Body Control Module) or immobiliser system. In most cases, United can program a unit to suit your specific requirements.
